ABOUT OUR MONTESSORI EDUCATION

Primary adult learners will take part in a 6 ½ week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm intensive training. During this period, the CCME mentor teachers will cover
  • The Montessori philosophy as it applies to 2.5 to 6 years old
  • Leadership
  • Practical Life curriculum
  • Sensorial curriculum
  • Child Development
  • Mathematics curriculum
  • Language curriculum
  • Developing cultural units
After completing the summer intensive training, adult learners will embark on their internship. Minimum requirements for this portion of training are nine months at least three consecutive hours, five days per week in a classroom that serves the age for which their summer intensive training covered. In addition to the above, each month, there will be required monthly workshops until the end of the internship. Each workshop will be held on a Saturday and Sunday. These workshops will cover additional subjects such as literature, music, mindfulness, etc., as well as curriculum testing and presentations.

Central California Montessori Education (CCME) provides high quality, inclusive, broad, Montessori teacher education. This is achieved by supplying well developed curriculum and manuals which are delivered by staff with high quality training and experience. Thorough and quantitative practice and practicum experience requirements add depth and complexity to the training. CCME is for adults of all ages and backgrounds who desire to teach in a Montessori classroom environment. CCME allows the Montessori community of the valley to access quality teacher training opportunities.
